No, I don't think you're being too sensitive. It's a shame they butted in and didn't let you do your thing! I would ask your mom why she didn't let you do the cooking and see what she says. She might have had a good reason and then you can tell her it upset you (be nice about it though!). sometimes adults don't realize how important something is to a younger person, so don't stay angry about it too long. Just have a nice conversation about it.
